Pending Forms
Definition: Any form that is available for data entry but not yet initiated and as such adds to the data entry backlog of the site staff / subject.
Running clinical trials is complicated and requires an enormous effort to coordinate the different aspects of a successful trial. You might wonder why this fuss about such a simple feature like pending forms? Well, opposite to what you might think, the effort of making this data available is far bigger than just listing all missing forms for a patient. Let’s give you an example; a study in Viedoc can be configured in many ways. Depending on the number of visibility conditions used (in Viedoc you can use conditions on site, subject, event, form, and item level), different subjects will, in the same study, always have different numbers of forms to complete. So, to understand, among other things, exactly how many forms that are “available, but not yet handled” at any given point in time in the study, Pending Forms is the answer.
